PASSPORTS
Passport applications are accepted at the Natchitoches Parish Clerk of Court’s Office. In order to obtain a passport book, the applicant must have the following:
- Proof of U.S. citizenship; i.e., a certified copy of your birth certificate or previous U.S. passport;
- Proof of identity; i.e., a valid driver’s license;
- Two (2) passport photographs (studio pictures, 2”x2”);
- For minor child under age 16, signatures of both parents or legal guardians or documentation as to why that is not possible, plus proof of relationship to parents;
- For minor children from age 16 to 17, evidence of at least one parent’s consent or awareness;
- Regardless of age, all customers must be present when applying;
Fees:
- Age 16 and over: $110.00 check or money order payable to U.S. Department of State; plus $25.00 processing fee in cash or check payable to Clerk of Court;
- Age 15 and under: $80.00 check or money order payable to U.S. Department of State; plus $25.00 processing fee in cash or check payable to Clerk of Court;
- All routine passports take approximately 4-6 weeks. An additional fee of $60.00, payable to U.S. Department of State, is required if expedited service is required, plus a fee for overnight mail service. An expedited passport may be received in 2-3 weeks.
Passport application must be signed in presence of the Passport Acceptance Clerk—DO NOT SIGN UNTIL YOU ARE INSTRUCTED TO DO SO.
FORMS REQUIRED:
DS-82, Application for Passport by Mail, may be used for passport renewal if applicant meets certain qualifications, as detailed in the website listed below.
DS-11, Application for Passport, is the required form for first-time applicants. It is also the required form for renewals of passports issued more than 15 years ago; for renewals of passports for minors under 16 years of age; or for renewals for persons who were under 16 when they received their previous passport.
OBTAINING FORMS:
Forms may be picked up at the Clerk of Court’s Office or downloaded, with detailed information about passports, from the website at http://travel.state.gov. The National Passport Information Center may be reached toll-free at 1-877-487-2778.
If a passport is needed in two (2) weeks or less, applicant will need to apply in person at the Passport Agency. Nearest agencies are in New Orleans and Houston. Appointments are required for all walk-ins. The following are telephone numbers for making an appointment for an urgent passport:
